FreeV presents Tal Wilkenfeld and her live performance of The National Anthem. #TalWilkenfeld, #NationalAnthem #FreeV #PoweredByFreeV

FreeV is very pleased to, once again, present bassist, Tal Wilkenfeld, this time with her stunning interpretation of The National Anthem, where she sings over a highly improvisational bass performance, on her 4 string electric jazz bass made by Roger Sadowsky. This was filmed for an episode of the Kill Tony podcast.

Jeff Beck with Tal Wilkenfeld (Live at Crossroads Guitar Festival)

FreeV presents Jeff Beck and Tal Wilkenfeld - Photo by Mandy Hall

FreeV powered MusicTelevision.Com previously featured this outstanding breakout performance of Jeff Beck and the awesome young female bassist Tal Wilkenfeld, along with keyboardist Jason Rebello and drummer Vinnie Colaiuta. We are very pleased to present this, once again, in fond memory of Jeff Beck who passed away on January 10, 2023.

This performance took place in 2007 at Eric Clapton's semiannual Crossroads Guitar Festival to benefit the charity Clapton created that provides drug and alcohol rehabilitation to locals as well as visitors on the Island of Antigua. The centre is called Crossroads Antigua.

It was a big deal for many new fans who were blown away at noticing and hearing the playing of Wilkenfeld for their first time. She blew fresh air into the world of bass playing.
